The most important furniture fair in the world, Milan’s Salone del Mobile, turns 60 this year and Elle Decor Italia wanted to pay tribute to it by organising a magnificent event at Fuorisalone 2022: an exhibition called “Design Forever”. Located at historic Palazzo Bovara, one of the most exquisite examples of Lombard neoclassicism, “Desing Forever” focused on contemporary living and its evolution through the creative eyes of Milanese studio Calvi Brambilla.
Open to the public from June 6 to 12, the installation was entirely dedicated to timeless design, a successful attempt to show the visitors the vanguard of past icons and the beauty of those to become one. A game of constant references between the well-preserved decor of the ancient building and the contemporary set of interiors carefully devised by the curators for such a special occasion.
The exhibit suggested an immersive itinerary through four different “stanzas”: Pure, Mobile, Bold and Hybrid. Hybrid contained a selection of crossover objects: fluid, hybrid, posing a challenge to conventionalism. It was in this funny, provocative space where our three collections were displayed: Pepe loveseat with Trio coffee tables and Frames armchair and Frames side table. Why them? Because they are family with those borderline objects that play tricks on the viewer. Because they live in the magic crossroads where design and art meet and melt into a hug.
