Last October we were awarded the Premio Nacional de Diseño. The most important design award a company or a professional may receive in Spain. The awaited gala awards took place just a few days ago. The date, 21st March, 2022. The place, the València Conference Centre. Most suitable place for Valencia is World Design Capital this year and plus, it is our home.
A representation of the company attended the gala, leaded by our CEO, Mercedes Laso. A short video interview where Mercedes summarised the history and the philosophy of the company was projected before receiving the trophy from the hands of Felipe VI, King of Spain, and Queen Letizia. Diana Morant, minister of Science and Innovation, Ximo Puig, president of the Generalitat Valenciana, and Joan Ribó, mayor of València, were also present at the stage.
Other honorees that have also been awarded a Premio Nacional de Diseño 2021 were the global group Cosentino, in the category of “Big Company”, and one of the greatest ambassadors of Spanish design who, besides, happens to be one of our fellow designers, the talented Jaime Hayon, in the category of “Professionals”. It was a pleasure and an honour being aknowleged together with them. It only makes this award more memorable.
And now that we finally have the Premio Nacional de Diseño, we cannot stop thinking: “What’s next?”. Hard to know, but one thing is for sure: we will keep doing what we do best, just like the jury said, designing, manufacturing and delivering the finest pieces of furniture.
